For Survey Participants
Is it safe to answer Crowd Science surveys?
Crowd Science is TRUSTe certified, which means that our privacy practices have undergone a full review by the TRUSTe experts for transparency, accountability and choice. All survey responses are anonymous and are aggregated into a larger data set, which means that we don't tie responses to individuals.
I don't want to participate in surveys powered by Crowd Science. How do I opt out?
Crowd Science surveys are voluntary. When you see a survey invitation powered by Crowd Science, you have a few options: you can accept, decline or ignore the invitation (which will disappear after a few seconds). If you decline or ignore, you will not be invited to participate in a survey for at least another 30 days. If you would like to permanently opt out of Crowd Science surveys, please visit our opt out page and follow the directions: http://app.crowdscience.com/optout/
For Website and Blog Owners
Why am I seeing a Crowd Science survey / pop-up / ad on my website or blog?
Crowd Science partners with publishers and networks to help them understand their audience and improve advertising effectiveness and revenues. Your site is likely part of a publishing or ad network who has retained our services. The survey invitation you saw is only shown to a small sample of your visitors. We have designed our surveys to be polite, DHTML-overlays that don’t interfere with your website design. For more information, please read our privacy policy: http://app.crowdscience.com/privacy/survey/
Is Crowd Science spam or malware?
No, Crowd Science is not spam or malware. Our surveys only appear on websites that work with us to measure their online audience. If our surveys are appearing on your site, you are likely part of a publishing or ad network who has retained our services.
Do you collect personal information about my visitors?
No, Crowd Science does not collect personally identifiable information about visitors without their express consent. The only cases where we collect personal information is if the publisher or network using our services is holding a contest or sweepstakes and needs the information to contact the winner, or if you send us a request through our contact forms or support portal. We never rent or sell any personal information to third parties. For more information, please read our privacy policy: http://app.crowdscience.com/privacy/survey/
How do I remove Crowd Science surveys from my website?
If you are a member of a publishing or ad network, please contact your representative. If you installed the Crowd Science tag on your site yourself, simply delete the code.
